Individuals grow up with the ability to learn skills and apply those skills into real world scenarios. Whether its cooking, driving, economics, or law, learning is used every day to fulfill an individual’s life. Nonetheless, the world is forever evolving into a digital atmosphere, and the ability to learn is turning digital as well. For centuries, learning was taken place in a classroom, or with hands on training. However, this traditional classroom experience is becoming more obsolete every single day. eLearning is learning utilizing electronic technologies to access educational curriculum outside of a traditional classroom.  In most cases, it refers to a course, program or degree delivered completely online (elearningnc.gov). There are many benefits, methods, and types of eLearning that are shaping society as you are read this blog. In fact, 90% of students prefer online learning over traditional learning or view them in the same way (Vedamo.com).

There are numerous benefits from eLearning. The first is the efficiency of. You can access the material at whatever time or place in the world, if there is an internet connection. This allows students or eLearners to gain their desired education anywhere in the world, without having to worry about attendance, bad weather, or face-to-face interaction. There are no parking problems or traffic, that can add additional costs. This brings us to the next benefit. The second benefit is the amount of money saved. Students do not have to worry about that out of state tuition fees, room & board fees, athletic fees etc. There is an unlimited amount of seating in the classroom, so students do not have to stress about classroom waiting lines and 6am registration. Let’s not forget about the building, parking lot, desks, chairs, whiteboards, and safety features that learning centers must provide. eLearning is truly cost-effective. The final benefit is the ability to learn more effectively. eLearning gives the student the opportunity to watch the lecture infinite amount of times desired, where traditional classroom learnings is a one hour and that’s it types of strategy. eLearning provides students with a consistent delivery where teachers can amend the material on the go, double check if their point got across, and focus on teaching rather than the dual responsibility of teaching and protecting the students. eLearning also avoids the problems of a teacher’s bad day, where they forget an important piece of the lecture, is sick and needs to cancel class, or is 20 minutes late because their car broke down. eLearning provides so many benefits, it is hard to think twice about returning to a classroom.

The methods and types of eLearning go beyond comprehension. Of course, eLearning is provided by many universities for individuals to obtain their degree, but businesses and government are turning to eLearning to facilitate their educational requirements. For example, businesses can use eLearning to teach employees customer service, compliance training, and even casual company policies. Individuals can use eLearning to make their favorite chocolate pie, build an intense gaming computer, craft a necklace from scratch, or even to perfect their push-up form. The most effective methods are Learning centers teaching through video lectures, step-by-step documents, interactive reading, and knowledge checkpoints

eLearning is the utmost efficient, cost saving, and effective way to learn anything this world has to offer. There are numerous benefits, methods, and ways to use eLearning to better yourself. eLearning is unlocking the doors to millions of opportunities and make dreams come true. Of course, this does not mean you will become an astronaut overnight, you still must apply yourself and work hard to achieve your goals.
